Once a bustling coal mining hub, today it’s known for its welcoming community, locally owned shops, western heritage, and vibrant arts scene. Red Lodge proudly preserves its frontier spirit—where saloons, shops, and historic buildings line the downtown streets, offering visitors a true taste of Montana's past and present. The town also hosts lively events throughout the year, like the famous Red Lodge Rodeo July 1-4th, the Beartooth Motorcycle Rally, and various art and music festivals, making it a cultural hub for both locals and travelers. Just beyond the town rise the Beartooth Mountains, part of the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness and home to some of the most dramatic alpine scenery in the lower 48 states. The Beartooth Highway, dubbed “the most beautiful drive in America” by Charles Kuralt, winds through glacial peaks, alpine lakes, and sweeping vistas at nearly 11,000 feet elevation. It’s a bucket-list destination for photographers, hikers, wildlife watchers, and anyone seeking awe-inspiring natural beauty. Together, Red Lodge and the Beartooths offer more than just a view—they offer a deep connection to Montana’s land, people, and spirit.

Pets allowed

Yes We happily welcome well-behaved pets at our alpaca ranch! We know that traveling with your furry companions makes the adventure even better. However, please be aware that this is a working ranch, and we have livestock guardian dogs (Komondors) on site. These big, shaggy protectors roam freely and are here to watch over our alpacas. Our guardian dogs are not aggressive, but they take their job seriously and may approach unfamiliar animals to assess them. For everyone’s safety and comfort, we ask that you only bring pets who are calm, respectful, and confident around large dogs. Pets must be under your control at all times and should not chase or bark at the livestock or guardian dogs. If your pet is a good ranch guest, they’re more than welcome to enjoy the fresh air and wide-open space with you!

Generators allowed

Yes Generators are allowed on our property, but with a few important guidelines to keep everyone safe and comfortable: Please place generators off the grass whenever possible. Our grassy areas are dry and natural, and placing a hot generator directly on them poses a fire risk—especially during the warmer months. We welcome quiet, camper-friendly generators that won’t disturb the peaceful atmosphere or neighboring guests. If your generator is loud, we ask that you use it sparingly and during daylight hours only. Always keep your generator in a secure and stable location away from flammable materials. Be mindful of wind direction and placement to avoid exhaust blowing toward other campers or animals. Montana’s fresh, cool evening air is perfect for wide open RV windows—letting in the crisp mountain breeze that refreshes your space and gently lulls you to sleep under the stars. Our goal is to maintain a peaceful, fire-safe, and friendly environment for all guests—two-legged and four-legged alike. Thank you for doing your part!
