About
Funnily enough, our journey growing organic, heirloom varietals started with a 1954 article that praised the benefits of earthworms, and where we learned about “Serenity Acres,” or “An Earthmaster Home,” which is a self-sustainable farming method. This inspired us to dedicate ourselves to organic farming, with a fresh perspective on land stewardship, especially considering that we call the Sacramento Delta Watershed home. Here, the water table is just 18 feet below the surface, which means protecting our water source from contaminants is one of top priorities. It influences our farming methods, runoff control, and soil enrichment. We’re passionate about the incredible flavors and unique texture that heirlooms bring from our farm onto your tables. These varieties connect us all with a rich agricultural heritage that’s been passed down through generations.

Scheduling notes
Call for parking instructions when you arrive (hope to have a map on this site soon). If you are towing something stay on Locke Rd and don't turn in or turn onto McKeithrin stay on Locke Road. (don't listen to the "lady"). Check in is between 1 pm and 4 pm and the gate closes at 5 pm. Farm tours are around 4 pm (depending on the goats). You can purchase tour tickets on the web site or when you arrive. We can only accommodate rigs that are under 35 feet long. That is from the tip of your front bummer of your tow vehicle to the rear of the items you are towing. If you are longer that that, you will make it in but not out. Remember we are closed on Sunday's so we don't spot anyone on that day. Please make reservations at least 48 hours in advance. Can't wait to meet you all!

Additional host rules
We are not open on Sundays please keep this is mind! Remember this is a working farm, not Disneyland or a multi-million dollar winery. My wife and I choose to nurture this living soil here at Lockewood Acres to live as self-sustainably as we can here in California as we try to survive in these trying times for as long as our tired old bodies will allow. During the summer it is hot with direct sun in the evening. Put your awning to the West, relax and have an iced "Lockewood" while enjoying the sunset. We have materials that we use (or plan to use) throughout our small 10 acre farm so watch your step. Please remember I only have about 14 hours a day (in the summer less in the winter) to get things done, so sometime things get neglected or get delayed and put back on the "List". With that in mind, if you want a safe, flat spot to rest over night and pick up a few items grown here, on this organically farmed ground, manufactured at this place by my wife with labels designed by our daughter, then this is the place for you. We look forward to meeting you down here on the farm!
